Congratulations NSA!

It’s been an exciting couple of months for NSA. I’m proud to say that in the past two months NSA has received a number of esteemed awards.

magazine won the gold award for “General Excellence – Magazines (circulation of 10,000 or fewer)” -in Association Media & Publishing’s 31st Annual EXCEL Awards competition.

General Excellence encompasses content, writing, graphic design and overall packaging. It is the highest honor in the “magazine” category. Three consecutive issues (October, November and December 2010) were submitted to show consistent excellence. Editorial advisory board chair Pamela Jett, MS, CSP, and her team provided editorial content guidance, while Speaker editor in chief Barbara Parus used her experience in writing, editing and magazine production to ensure an award-winning publication.

For the first time ever, the Voices of Experience CD (March 2010 edition) was submitted to the competition in the category of “Media Innovations: Podcast.” It won a silver award, under the leadership of 2010-11 VOE Chair Gerard Braud.

This prestigious competition attracted more than 1,100 entries nationwide in 12 main categories.

Two Speaker magazine cover stories won Copper Quill Awards of Merit (category: feature writing) in the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) 2011 Copper Quill Awards competition that took place May 18.

NSA CEO, Stacy Tetschner

The winning stories were: “Take a Stand for Your Brand” (April 2010) and “The Original Survivor” (November 2010). Freelancer Stephanie Conner wrote both stories.

Not only has Speaker magazine and the VOE been picking up awards but so has NSA’s own CEO, Stacy Tetschner, CAE. Stacy was recently named Pacesetter of the Year by the International Association of Speakers Bureaus  IASB.

Congratulations, NSA!
